Save the Date: MET GALA SCV Returns March 14, 2025

A lot has changed since the last gala. Unfortunately, this is how cancer works—it's sneaky and quick, arriving when you least expect it, picking away at an otherwise normal life.

My progression is now in my right lung and the pleural space, causing pleural effusion that required draining. A tube was placed in my chest so I could drain at home as needed. I felt like a breastfeeding mom, except the joy was replaced by fear. When the tube became infected, I landed in the hospital for 13 days. I was septic, needed two blood transfusions, and the days were very touch and go. Thankfully, I left the hospital tubeless. Two new medications later, the lung mass continues to grow. I have one more medication to try before moving to chemotherapy.

In the midst of this disease, I continue to live my best life. I walked the runway at New York Fashion Week to raise money for MBC research, and I will continue to advocate for as long as I can. I am so grateful for this upcoming holiday season with my family, and I don't take a second for granted.

With hope and determination, we move forward with the MET GALA SCV this spring.
